The Global Fund (TGF) has approved a US$65.7 million grant proposal submitted to it by the Liberia Coordinating Mechanism (LCM) for the funding cycle 2018-2020/21.

The grant is intended to accelerate progress toward building Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health (RSSH) to end AIDS, TB and Malaria in the country.

Liberia is a low income country and its population has been devastated by the three diseases.

Given this situation, the LCM as a multi-sectorial body continues to inspire national and international partners to provide support toward reducing the high HIV, TB and Malaria burden on Liberia.

The new grant focuses on stopping new HIV-TB infections and keeping People Living with the diseases alive and healthy.

The LCM is hopeful of a turnaround in the epidemic of Tuberculosis, mitigation of socio-economic impact on people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS, and reduction by 50% in illnesses and deaths caused by Malaria at the end of 2020.

The Ministry of Health is the sole PR for the TB grant; while the HIV grant has two PRs which are the Ministry of Health and the Population Services International (PSI), and the Malaria grant which includes the health systems strengthening component is managed by Ministry of Health and PLAN International.
